Generally, throughout Spain, the "pito" (whistle) figure is a testament to the cultural identity of a town.

Thus, the fired clay whistles made in Jaén include figures related to the world of traditions in their typology. But it was in the 19th century when these whistles became more popular in this area, as many figures created at that time were used to whistle at the French army defeated in the Battle of Bailén.

Subsequently, they have continued to be part of collective celebrations to this day
